If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.
If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.
If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.
If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.
If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
Well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.
For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything just right.
There will always be another day
to say "I love you,"
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do?"
But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget.
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight.
So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,
That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.
So hold your loved ones close today,
and whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear
Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or
"It's okay."
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

Para pensar y actuar
El Dios de la guerra es dios de los intereses propios
(privilegio, elección, poder, bienestar, indiferencia frente a
los pobres, connivencia con el sistema establecido, libertad para
los fuertes.) por encima de todo, y por encima concretamente de la
posibilidad de la justicia y de la igualdad fraterna, tenidas como
imposibles y antinaturales.
El dios de la paz es dios de la justicia y la fraternidad por
encima de todo, a costa de la destrucción de los privilegios e
intereses particulares, y aun a costa de la donación de sí
mismo.
Las religiones del mundo tienen ante sí ese mismo desafío:
dialogar, discernir la presencia del "Dios de la guerra"
que se ha agazapado históricamente dentro de ellas en forma de
"salvación exclusiva", elección única, justificación
del propio privilegio, connivencia con el poder, olvido de los
pobres. y convertirse al Dios universal de la Paz con Justicia.

Highest vision
Somewhere deep within you is a vision of how wonderful and
beautiful you know life can be. It may be buried under layers of
disillusionment, cynicism, frustration and despair, and yet it is
there. It is there ready for you to fulfill.
Ironically, you know that vision is there precisely because of
the
difficulties you experience. For there would be no such thing as
difficulty unless there was also something positive and wonderful
against which you could compare it. You have a solid and
sustaining vision for how great you know life can be. The more you
connect with that vision, the more real it will become.
Can the reality of your life really match the beauty of your
highest and best vision for that life? You bet it can! For why
would you have the vision of a great life unless you also had the
possibility of such, and the ability to attain it?
Whatever you can envision, you can become. Challenge yourself
first to find that genuine vision, and then to make it so. It's
definitely there -- you most certainly have it. Get in touch with
that highest vision and live the life you were truly meant to
live.

Step back and see
You are more than whatever is troubling you. A very real part
of you exists beyond your worries, beyond the anxieties,
independent from the problems and frustrations of the day.
Step back and observe yourself as you experience each moment.
Step back and watch yourself as you think, as you take action, as
you experience emotions. Your body may experience pain, and yet
that pain is not you. Your mind may encounter problems and
frustrations, and yet you are not those problems or frustrations.
Realize that the circumstances and situations of your life are
nothing more than things you are experiencing. Watch yourself as
you experience them, and know that they cannot limit who you
really are. Step back and understand that you can move positively
forward no matter what may be happening in the world around you.
You are not your job, or your bank account balance, or your
neighborhood. You are not your problems or anxieties or
frustrations or past mistakes. You are much, much more. Step back,
and find the positive energy that is yours when you learn to live
beyond your everyday concerns.

Joyfully forward
Do not be discouraged that the journey ahead of you is long and
difficult. Your discouragement would only make it more so.
Instead, rejoice in the fact that you're moving steadily ahead.
Enjoy the satisfaction of truly making a difference, of taking one
step after another, and of moving closer each day toward the
ultimate goal.
It can seem overwhelming at times when you have so much to get
done. Yet feeling overwhelmed will not get anything accomplished.
So the next time you feel overwhelmed, simply replace it in your
mind with a feeling of being overjoyed -- overjoyed at the
opportunity to make a difference.
Your time is precious -- too precious to spend worrying that
you might have wasted it. What's happened has happened. You are
where you are. Delight in that fact and make the very best of each
moment. If you're tempted to be discouraged, keep in mind that
every reason for that discouragement is in the past. Let it fade
gently away as you find joy in moving positively
forward.

excitante de tener el corazón Abierto.
